New trophies for 2008

Morton Reeves Bowl

Michael Shaw, David Humphrey, Sara Morton, Stella Reeves and Rikke Dakin, on behalf of Perdix, are pleased to present this trophy to Itchenor Sailing Club as a memorial to Sir Alastair Morton and Christopher Reeves.  Both Alastair and Christopher were members of the Club for over 25 years and great supporters of it, Perdix, and the XOD Class generally.

The trophy shall be competed for by the XOD class, Itchenor Division throughout each sailing season.

The trophy shall be awarded to the boat that scores the most points for all races* throughout the season. The points shall be 1st place – 3 points, 2nd place – 2 points, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th places – 1 point each. In the event of a tie the winner shall be decided by the system described below.

*Races excluded

Points shall not be awarded for Summer Series, Saturday Morning Series, Wednesday Evening Races nor the Lone Star, Hands Cup and Grenfell Trophy races.

In the event of a tie the boat with the most number of 1st places shall be the winner. If a tie still exists, the boat with the most number of 2nd places shall be the winner …and so on until the tie is broken.

Measurer's Model

In memory of Frank Powell, Cherry and Frank's stepsons Mark and James have generously presented the XODs at Itchenor with a new trophy - Measurer's Model - a splendid half model of an XOD.  Frank was the XOD Class measurer for several years until his death in February.

The trophy will be raced for on the Tuesday of Points Week.

Bridget Bowerbank XOD Trophy

The Bridget Bowerbank XOD Trophy is to be awarded to the Itchenor XOD that completes the most races in our season as listed in the Club Handbook, excluding the Summer Series.

Boats that retire or are disqualified for any reason shall be deemed not to have completed a race. If a race is cancelled or abandoned, no boats will have completed the race.
